An acoustic movable wall partition is a flexible, operable wall system designed to subdivide interior spaces while providing a high level of sound insulation. The system consists of individual or continuously hinged panels that move along an overhead track and lock into position to form a solid, acoustically rated barrier.
Each panel is constructed with a rigid frame, high-density acoustic core, and multiple layers of sound-absorbing and sound-reflecting materials to achieve the specified Sound Transmission Class (STC) / Rw rating, typically ranging from STC 40 to STC 55+ depending on design. Specialized vertical interlocking seals, along with top and bottom retractable seals, ensure airtight closure and minimize sound leakage.
The partition operates manually or electrically, depending on model, and can be stacked to one side or into a concealed pocket when not in use, allowing complete flexibility in room layout. A variety of finishes—laminate, veneer, fabric, writeable surfaces, or acoustic panels—can be applied to blend with interior design requirements. Optional integrated pass doors provide access without opening the entire wall while maintaining acoustic performance.
